E-Z Way Tutoring was founded by Edward Zurav, Esq. , a licensed attorney in the State of New Jersey. Mr. Zurav was born in 1956. His father was a practicing attorney for over 50 years and his mother was a special education instructor for over 35 years, and he likes to say that in his work he combines the skill sets handed down to him by each parent. He displayed extraordinary reading and standardized testing abilities from a very early age. In the sixth grade, he displayed the ability to read over 3000 words per minute according to the SRA reading program. He scored in the 99th percentile on every standardized test he ever took up through the college level. While in high school, his PSAT scores earned him a commendation as a National Merit Scholar. Following his graduation from the Pingry School, he matriculated at and received a law degree from Seton Hall University. His Law School Admission Test (LSAT) scores were high enough to earn him entrance into MENSA, an international society whose sole requirement for entrance is the possession of an IQ in the top 2% of the world’s ppulation. He is a life member of MENSA and has presented at their Annual Gathering. He also was invited to join Triple-Niners, a similar high IQ society requiring proof of an IQ in the top 1/10 of 1% of the world’s population. He scored in the top 1% on both his Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
In 1983 Mr. Zurav founded E-Z Way Tutoring in response to a request from the Dean of Admissions at Seton Hall Law School, who had received complaints about larger standardized test prep courses and their lack of individualization. By the time he graduated from Seton Hall two years later, he had tutored over 15% of the incoming pupils there as well as large numbers of his classmates, who were so impressed with the reports of his tutoring prowess from underclassmen and women that they requested his help for the Bar Exam even though he had not yet passed that important hurdle himself at the time. He has tutored well over one thousand people who have gone on to become attorneys over the decades since then.
Mr. Zurav personally teaches students test-taking strategies that have proven successful over the decades of the company’s being in business. Students’ needs are not identical, which is why E-Z Way employs a highly effective and unique course of study. His programs are the only ones that relate test preparation to the skills intended to be measured by these tests. He is honest about evaluating his pupils’ needs and expectations. He tells his students what they need to know in order to maximize their chances of success on standardized tests and in their quests for admission to law school, college and graduate school without sugar-coating his advice so they hear what they would like to hear even if their expectations are unrealistic.
